About Us

Founded in 2016, the Gay Latino Collective (GLC) emerged from a shared desire to foster a supportive and empowering space for Gay Latinos in New York City. We provide a platform for professional networking, cultural exploration, and personal growth, fostering a sense of belonging and celebrating the unique experiences of our vibrant community.

Our Values

Community

Our organization stands at the intersection of two identities but our members cast a much wider net of intersectionality. We choose to celebrate that diversity and support our members in their individual explorations by fostering long-standing partnerships with diverse community organizations.

Culture

We celebrate the beauty of our Latinidad and believe that sharing our stories allows us to find instances of shared identity through which we can build community, strength, and power.

Intersectionality

Our organization stands at the intersection of two identities but our members cast a much wider net of intersectionality. We choose to celebrate that diversity and support our members in their individual explorations by fostering long-standing partnerships with diverse community organizations.

Empowerment

We aim to uplift each other and to further each person's self-confidence, so we can accomplish our individual and collective dreams through courageous leadership.

Members' Voices

Pablo

“They were welcoming, intelligent, competent, successful, and determined, and I wanted to be part of that. That’s why and how I became involved with GLC”

Patrick

“I decided to join GLC because, as I've gotten older, I started to feel more disconnected from the Latinx community. The LGBT+ community is also a very large umbrella and I found that I didn't have much in common with most of the people I would meet and interact with.”
